It’s a GREAT DAY at DMCA. We are very relieved that we had minimal damage from Hurricane Irma. And today we have electrical power for the entire campus! Teachers, Staff and Students are happy to be in our “regular routine”. Thankfulness for our safety and prayers for those who are suffering from hurricane damages are two major topics of discussion. The classes are making heart-felt cards to send to some of our HEROS! (those who worked continually throughout the storm and the aftermath: those who helped restore water, electricity, safe roads and bridges, healthcare workers ……. There are too many to list! In our own way, DMCA will thank some of these who provide for us, and for all.
A big THANK YOU to PACK 701 for their generous donation of time to help rid the campus of the many, many tree branches that were down after the storm. These Scouts were busy for several hours moving branches >>>>>> Stewardship in action.
GRANDPARENTS’ DAY will be celebrated on October 6 at DMCA with a Mass and reception.
BOO! – The annual Halloween Trunk and Treat is Friday 27 Oct in the DMCA parking lot. Never too early to start planning your award winning car decor, costumes or treats to hand out (remember this a Family Friendly event)
DMCA Student Council is pleased to report that we raised $632 on the NUT Day on September 6 for Hurricane Harvey victims. Thank you for your generosity.
The BOOKFAIR will be here the first week in October!! Yes, that’s right >>> Monday October 2-Friday October 6. Students and Parents are welcome to stop in and shop!
Save Your Sneakers! DMCA is collecting used sneakers. These sneakers will be redistributed to people around the world in need of shoes. These will be reused, so please:
- No rips larger than a pin hole
- Soles should be intact
- Tie shoes together by the laces
- All sizes (child through adult) will be accepted
We are partnering with gotsneakers.org who will forward $1.00/pair of sneakers to DMCA. The class that collects the most shoes per student wins a deluxe ice cream party. Boxes are in the classrooms and the front office!
